Commercial quality
Thai is long enough to keep your fingers out of the food. it's commercial quality so it should last a life time. This is an 8-ounce ladle what is the perfect size to serve soups and Chili's. I use this 4 serving chili and soups if you have a 8 ounce bowl this will fill it to the brim. If you have a 12 ounce bowl which I use quite often this is the perfect size for a 12 ounce bowl it leaves just them in a room left at the top of the bowl to keep it from splashing out. This is a heavy duty commercial grade ladle. I would think this should last a lifetime with proper care. It cleans up easy has a nice sound to it and it's a heavyweight ladle. I have used this for several months now and it still looks just about as good as it did when I first bought it. I paid full price for this later I did not get it at any kind of a discount so this is an honest review from someone that paid full price for it it's just a nice heavy commercial quality lately that I think you would be happy with we use it quite often. Another thing I would like to tell you it is that this ladle has a long handle so you can use this in a deep pot without getting your fingers in the food. The slider has a hole in the handle which you can hang up thank you for listening to this review or reading this review I mean I hope you enjoy it.

Good one-piece ladle
This ladle does what it was designed to do. I didn't measure it exactly, but I did pour a ladle-full into a measuring cup & it seems to be spot on. I would have personally preferred it to be "deeper" than it is wide, but it doesn't really bother me. The solid one-piece design in stainless steel is what I was looking for since it is easy clean-up, as 2-piece designs have an area where nasty food bits accumulate, especially when soups/liquids are involved. The handle has clear markings for both oz & ml, making it easy to find among other ladle sizes you may have. Being that this is commercial quality, it was never really meant to be placed in a drawer, but rather "hung" by the handle in full view. This works well for me, since my kitchen is set to commercial specs & I have wire steel shelves where I keep my pots & pans. I do intend to get more of these in different sizes to make a complete set.As for other reviews complaining about the size, this is not even that large compared to other ladles I have worked with professionally. Perhaps they just liked the "idea" of an 8oz ladle, without really considering the actual size. This does not deserve a 1-star review because the reviewer didn't know what they were getting into. That being said, I measured this to be approx 14" long from tip top to the very bottom, and slightly over 4" wide.

Beautiful and functional ladle, but has sharp edges
The Ladle is sharp looking and does not stain. It was delivered with no flaws. There are two characteristics of the ladle that I do not like though. 1) it has sharp edges which makes it uncomfortable to pour. 2) The extension past the curve in the top of the handle is a little too long for me and the curve itself is a little to narrow.I am pleased enough with the ladle and expect to use it for years to come.

Well built quality ladle
Ladle seems well built and doesn't appear that it will break too readily. This is just the right size to fit in a drawer so thats nice that it doesn't need to be stored elsewhere. Not sure if kitchen drawers are "standard" but it fits in ours. We bought this as our only ladle in the house was 2oz and it took forever when canning. We haven't used it for canning yet, but with the rolled over lip around the ladle I'm sure it will be fine and relatively drip free. We've used it for serving squash soup and chili and it has been great for that.I'd recommend this ladle.UPDATE after 1 year:After owning this for a year and using it for canning and every thing else I would still highly recommend this ladle. It is quite large and barely fits in our kitchen drawer and does get banged around a lot in the draw (always seems to be in the way) but it has held up well and is still in good shape. This is a quality buy. If you want/need a large ladle I would absolutely recommend this ladle.Since I saw it asked (and it was asked in my comments) this ladle is 13 3/4" overall length (as near as I can measure) from the bottom of the bell to the top of the curve in the handle

Decent quality for inexpensive ladle.
This is a cheap ladle, but fully adequate. The edges are minimally finished, but not sharp. The handle could bend easily if you choose, or if you are not careful. The ladle is one-piece (no welds), so longevity should not be a problem. The full cup volume is perfect for me.My use is to dip paint from a 1 gallon can into a filter for my paint sprayer using water-based coatings. It works well for that, and, being reasonably polished, cleans up nicely in soap water. The smooth inside of the cup scrapes clean easily with a full-size silicone spatula. The rounded bottom, though polished, is more of a challenge.I don't believe I'd want this in my kitchen, though I wouldn't be too disturbed if I found one there. It's worth the inexpensive price, but not more.

Really well-made, great value but keep an eye on the size!
This is a really well-designed and well-made stainless steel 8 ounce ladle. It's formed out of a single piece of metal, has a sturdy bowl with just enough of an outwardly-curved lip to facilitate pouring out (or letting in just a bit of liquid). It also has a big hook on the end, which I have found means I can hang it on my ceiling-mounted pot rack without having to use up one of my hooks.However.You may want to take another look at the size: 8 ounces. 1 cup, 1 full cup of liquid will fit into that bowl. Which means that it (and the long handle attached to it) are pretty big. Some reviews are complaining that it is too big--it's not too big for an 8 oz. ladle, which is what you are buying. If you want a smaller ladle, I would recommend a 4 or 2 or even smaller ladle.
