Big Sherpa.
Light and plenty sturdy for my 10lb hunting rig.

Expensive for one year use
After one year of use (6 month hunting season) in the middle of a hunt the legs snapped on this tripod. Of course it was one month after the warranty. Tried contacting company who referred me to Amazon who then told me to go back to the BOG company. So just the run around and no support from Amazon. Think twice before buying unless willing to spend this much each year. Would give a lower rating if possible. Sad a kid getting into the sport at a young age invests good money into a product that is not supported.

Shoot straight
I hunted Elk in Montana and the guide let me use his bog. I had a split second to shoot between 2 trees at 360 yards and this tripod let me make that shot. I ordered one as soon as I got home.

If you're taller than 5'10"... Can't stand normally to shoot!!!
Come on man... these must all be designed in Chickity China by shorter than most height engineers that think "Ahhhh, wonaful pwoduct" and then pass it over to a higher payscale person on the ladder and then, it's double checked all over by someone that is his height or shorter...🤏🙆♂️🤷♂️😏 For it to work out in Nawth Jawjuh, whil'st a tall individual is trying to thump some pasture poodles that may be in an all out runnin' in 7th gear and 4-wheel high range kinda mood...Well, then it's just 100% gotta come with one more 6", 8", or 10" inch additional screw-in and slide up or down (*then I think you'd have enough extra length to adjust it for yourself without having to have all 3 legs pulled in tightly towards the center, and then... no stability when the legs are not spread apart wider... lol, that's what she said!!!) additional parts to extend the center "mast" section for taller people for it to even be close to ok at a normal standing up whil'st they're shooting height for anyone taller than 5'10" in my opinion.I'm 72½" tall and if I could find a taller C.F. weight model for the same cost then I'd jump on it. Hopefully I can find a piece that will screw into the center from the manufacturer without too much trouble...Wish me well...

Too short
Heavy duty stand but I'm 6'1" and when I have a rifle in this stand I have to crouch down/bend over to shoot. If they would have made the base 6-12" taller it's be the perfect tripod stand.

Doesn’t compete with the original
Have the original deathgrip thinking thos one would be an upgrade. It’s not. They’re trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s too short and when you’re in the middle of a hunt one thing will come loose if its too tight somewhere else. Dont buy it for shooting.

Great tripod but still kinda heavy
Now that I have three hunts behind me I felt that I should give this a review as I spent a lot of time researching hunting tripods and had a hard time deciding. . I am glad I purchased this carbon model. I wouldn’t want to have to carry one any heavier than this one climbing up 8000+ feet mountains chasing elk. It really wasn’t an issue on the antelope hunts as the terrain was much kinder to an old guy. On every hunt the shot ended up being over 300 yards. This really made all the difference in the world getting a much steadier rest. Two shots were standing and one sitting. Being able to swing with the animal was priceless. Initial set up for the shot was pretty quick but it takes A LOT of practice to get to this stage . I won’t be hunting without this tripod again. Please practice, practice, practice shooting with the tripod as much as possible before hunting with it. The learning curve can be daunting a first.
