Johnny Slicks is a great brand considering there are not many ingredients in it. I have thin hair so I am concerned with what goes in it. Showering after having this pomade followed by combing gives your hair nice volume with a decent hold. In general i would say it provides a medium hold. Another bonus is that it smells great.

Works just as good if not better than other hair products, but is all natural! I switched from Axe hair gel to this and not looking back. Lasts all day, if not into the next if you don't wash it out. Good, fresh smell.

I’ve been using the pomade so far for a week, and I’ve really been enjoying it. The hold is definitely light, but it allows you to easily restyle it, a pompadour . With my job I often have to wear a helmet with a liner, and stiffer pomades like suavacito the pomade will still get messed up, but there was no fixing it.I see that a lot of the negative reviews was people complain about it being hard to wash out and buildup, I looked into it and it seems to just be how oil based pomades work. I used a combo of products that I looked up how up to on google. Once doing that set of steps it was completely out of my hair.My only complaint is I wish the fragrance wasn’t so strong, I’ll try rugged next.

Honestly, this is not a bad product. I cannot tell you how many different pomade’s I have used, and I do have my preferences, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit this time.The smell of this is fantastic. I thought my usual pomade was the best smelling one, but this is just as good. And it’s not strong at all, I don’t get why I’ve seen more than one person say it gives them a headache. This is a pleasant natural scent with not a whole lot of projection on it.Second, everyone keeps saying it’s greasy. What did you expect? It’s oil based. And yeah, it’s a little greasy but it’s nowhere near as greasy as you folks made it sound.I got Johnny slicks because I go for a “greased” look. I can’t understand why someone would buy this product if they didn’t want a slick shiny product in their hair lol.The reason I went with this product is because I usually use a water-based pomade from another company. And water-based pomade, in the current freezing temperature, basically turn into a brick on my head. I wanted a product that would still be pliable in the cold, and not crunchy helmet head. So this product has thus far delivered on what I was looking for.People are complaining about the hold. It literally said low/medium hold on it. And that’s going to depend on 1. Your hair and 2. The amount of product you use.I guess if you’re considering Johnny slicks original oil based pomade…you need to first decide what you want your hair to actually look like. If you want a dry looking silky hold, then no, this isn’t the product for you. If you have long hair, no, this isn’t really going to keep your hair in place.If you’re trying to slick back your hair and have a nice shine to it but you also don’t want helmet head, as i do, I recommend this product.Will purchase again, and we will see how it holds up in the heat, I doubt it will hold very well, so I may have to go back to my other product in the summertime

I used to use American crew, but it’s loaded with chemicals and parebens , which are hormoneDisruptors. The smell is great. You just melt a little in your palms-easy enough.I don’t take shortcuts on cheap ingredients.
