Works well for bad smelling water and sediment.
We really like this filter with the charcoal. It captured a lot of iron and sediment. We had bad smelling water and it cleared up within a day after installing this filter. I don’t think this will completely replace getting a whole house water system, but it doesn’t cost $3,500 either. I have to change this filter more often than one for just sediment to keep water from smelling and turning plumbing black. We’ll see how it goes for the next six months.

Previous filters worked. Getting black flakes in our drinking water now
I've used this filter for 6 years, replacing it once a year. I just use it for drinking water under the kitchen sink. It has always been great at filtering out chlorine taste. This latest unit started shedding black flakes in our drinking water. See photo.I chatted with customer service and they say they will give me a refund even though their email with a QR code says they won't. I guess we'll see.

excellent filter
My well water is crystal clear now. Previously I used a whole house pleated cartridge filter plus a brita filter for drinking water. The pleated filter lasted 2-3 months but I still needed the brita to remove the metallic taste from the faucet. When I switched to this carbon block filter, I no longer needed to filter my drinking water. I cant say yet how long this filter will last as I just started using it but I can say that the well water from my faucet is pristine with no noticeable drop in pressure. I had 2 water treatment companies tell me that I needed very expensive filtration and softener systems to get rid of rust stains and metallic taste in my water but I tried a "big blue" filter and this cartridge first and am completely satisfied.

Excellent filter!
This filter is performing very well filtering the water. The filter I had before didn’t performed well and I could see sediment in the water. There is no bad odor and the water don’t taste bad, although I use my whirlpool refrigerator to drink water. So overall I think this filter is pretty good so far ! Will update this review in 5 months. Stay put!

Wrong filter. It makes my hot tub surge
These filters are the right part number, but they built them super thick so it makes my hot tub surge like there’s a problem with the pump. If I remove the filter, the surgeon goes away and my hot tub runs just fine.

Works!
I actually have this filter on my soft wash pressure wash system, I run a Siamese cat cleaning business and this filter keeps my water very clean!

Works quite well as a single filter solution for wells
I've run a variety of Pentek filters on my well over the years. This year I decided to give carbon block filters a shot, while I did notice a change in the taste of the water I also got a significant amount of pressure loss fairly early on in the filters life. Until I gave this one a shot. My well has pretty low sediment, primarily rust and fines. This filter held up about as well as the normal sediment type cartridges I've used. Of course YMMV depending on your well and what you have to deal with. I've cycled out two of these so far with no issues to report.
