Fenwicks Fenglass Fiberglass Fly Rod

I just got this rod and have already fished it hard. I landed several fall king salmon on this rod and while it was mealy bent full circle it kept fighting and helped bring the fish in. At first it felt a bit flimsy but this rod is TOUGH!While it is tough it's also very agile in the hand, loads great and presents the fly exactly where I want it.Overall a great fly rod!

Just a fun rod to fish with. For anyone who started out fishing with the old Fenwick glass rods, this is just an updated version with newer components. So much different than fishing with the fast graphite rods mostly found today.

I have the 4wt version and first off, it’s absolutely gorgeous. The slip rings for the reel were different for me but it’s never come loose yet. I caught a 20” bow on a wooly bugger with it and the feel was amazing! Get this if you want perfect finesse dry fly presentation and good dropper rigs...it’s not a distance machine and you can’t overpower the rod. If you slow down just a bit and let the rod work it’s a great rod! I own 9 rods currently and will be adding the fenglass in 8wt soonUPDATE...got the 8wt...the cork handle is smaller than others, and it lacks a second locking reel ring. That said it’s still a beauty of a rod. Backyard casting it feels great, just have to keep reminding myself to slow it down a little. Will update again when it’s fished properly with poppers and into a slight breeze. So far A+ purchase
