Nice kitchen light.
I bought the 4000K fixture. Not sure how the 5000K would work out.Nice looking puff fixture that draws LED wattage rather than fluorescent wattage. Pricey but seems decent.Nice diffused BRIGHT light not point sources like most early LED lights. Like a VERY BRIGHT Fluorescent fixture. There's a 0-2 second delay on switching on this light. The mfg is probably reproducing the action of a T8 Fluorescent tube fixture. The mounting points may not line up with your cieling studs. Drill a couple holes and mount it. The fixture is so light it can be installed using the included plastic anchors in drywall. The wiring is hidden under the half channel running down the center of the fixture. Remove the channel, bump out the knockout, and install the wires onto the existing lamp wiring. This is a WET LOCATION fixture. According to this manufacturer that type of supply requires a ground for the power packs to function properly. BE SURE TO HOOK UP THE GROUND WIRE.

Very pleased with this fixture to replace a 20 year old ...
Very pleased with this fixture to replace a 20 year old fluorescent one on our kitchen ceiling. First, the delivered package was impressive in order to protect the plastic diffuser. Expertly packed with multiple layers of cardboard and tape. Installing it was tricky because the footprints of the old one were wider than the new. It is a two person job, one to hold the plate against the ceiling and the other to drill holes, install toggle bolts, etc. Did not care for the connector provided... was not sure of the integrity of the wire ends being captured. We were very happy with the brilliance in the end, much brighter than the previous one. We chose the 4000K, cool white model. Contrary to other reviews our light is "instant on", absolutely no delay. Would highly recommend.

CEILING LIGHT WITH BOTH PROS AND CONS
I was debating how many stars to give this product, as there are positives and negativesFirst, let's look at the cons:There are no wires exposed to hook up the light to a ceiling box. The wires are buried in a channel that you have to pull out to connect them. The holes on the light may or may not line up with your studs. I had to drill holes in the fixture itself to attach to the beams. Finally on the negative side, the light has a long delay until it turns on. Once you turn the power on it takes at least 5 seconds to turn on. While this delay may not seem like much, it could be important if you are entering an area where you can trip and fall if not enough light. The positive things are:Light is close to the ceiling and doesn't hang down at all. It looks good hanging up.Also, the light is pretty bright and about 5500 lumens. Mine is in a 9x6 master bedroom closet and it is plenty of light. Finally, there are clips you turn to mount the diffuser to the fixture which makes installation a little easier. It's up to you to decide if this light is good for you. By the way, it is not exactly inexpensive, so you have to take that into consideration as well,

Bright, well built, and wait for it....
One one-thousand, two one-thousand, three one-thousand. That is the delay from flicking the (single-pole toggle) switch until the light comes on.Aside from the delay, I am very pleased with this light. The fixture is well made and easy to install. I especially appreciate that it is connected the house wiring via a pushing the wires into a connector which is secure and offers a quick release; I like this much more than the typical wire nuts.I was concerned that the light would be a cool white based on the description. However, it looks much more like a natural white - this is consistent with the color temperature of 4000K which is also in the description. The light is very bright and It is well diffused, giving even illumination. My wife loves it in the laundry room and pantry.I would have given it 5 stars except for the delay which is especially annoying when you come home in the dark and need to wait 3 seconds before the room lights up.

Works as advertised
I replaced a similar fixture with this led fixture. I liked that it seemed to be made well enough to last. It was as bright as the fixture it replaced. It did not have a delay turning on as reported by other buyers. Overall, I was very pleased with this light fixture. I had to have another person hold the fixture while I screwed it to the ceiling. The instructions were very limited. They could improve on the instructions although I did not have any problems because of the minimal instructions. There was a piece of cardboard included with about the same footprint as the fixture. I cut it to the same size as the fixture, marked the screw holes on the cardboard, and taped it to the ceiling to use as a template. Once I got the template adjusted the way I wanted, I drilled the template holes. I hope it lasts a long time.

Nice light, but install kit is crap
The fixture itself and quality of light produces are both nice. But since this mounts to ceilings, the cheap-o plastic anchors and screws they provide as an installation kit is crap. I ended up using my own anchors and screws to ensure the fixture wouldn't eventually fall. One other complaint is that the corner of the fixture was damaged. I had to bend the metal back in place with a pair of pinch nose pliers. The metal is very sturdy, so the box must've suffered a nasty fall to damage the fixture so. But since all the LED's worked, and I didn't want the hassle of a return, I went ahead and installed it. Overall, I'm happy with the light.

One Star
There is a 4+ second delay from flipping the switch before the light actually turns on. Extremely disappointing.

Very Bright, Perfect for Kitchen
I got the “cool” version of this light for my kitchen. I am very pleased with it. It is extremely bright, which is exactly what I want for my kitchen. It was a great value for the money. I saved a lot of money ordering it rather than buying the same light at Home Depot.
