Great Holder but not for everyone....
This baton holder has some good features. It is of durable construction, and is easily adjustable for mounting angle using an allen wrench (much like many of the synthetic hosters). I like the quick release hinged mount for your belt. It allows to to easily and quickly remove it or change locations on your belt without "unstacking" your belt of other equipment. Its unique feature is that the baton is held in the holder by an uber strong magnet in the base. It is pretty much a given that your baton is not going anywhere until you pull it. It is that strong. Now for the part that some will like, and some won't. It takes a SIGNIFICANT jerk to disengage from the holder and to deploy your baton. When you get it out, the magnet has caused the baton to extend as you draw. You really need to have a STRONG jerk to lock your baton. This also means that you can't draw with it closed to use in tight spaces for body strikes. Those who are used to friction holders and who draw then deploy the baton with a wrist flick will have to relearn their draw technique. Since it takes a much harder initial jerk to get the baton in play, some may have trouble doing it, especially shorter stature individuals. In my opinion, it takes less effort to draw from a friction holder and to extend with a wrist flick. I give this a 5 star rating because it is a good sturdy product and does what it says. However, as I said before, it is not for everybody so keep the draw requirements in mind before buying.

Cool but not universal
In the good column this appears to be a very well made product. Cant is adjustable with set screw. Hinged belt clip that will accommodate wide/duty belts. Material feels solid, good quality. Comes in a box with two Allen wrenches (the cant set screw and retention screw are different sizes unfortunately). The the middle/“I dunno” column is the whole magnetic auto deployment feature. The reason I don’t know should segue is nicely into the cons portion of the review: my baton doesn’t fit!! Which is what it is but it does say “universal” I noticed, yet it’s very much one-size. Yeah, there’s an adjustable tension screw at the top but my baton binds up a little more than 1” in.So yeah, not universal. My baton does have a thicker knurled grip but it doesn’t go in far enough for that to be a a problem. It’s not a particular large baton. Anyway, it doesn’t get anywhere near the bottom so couldn’t tell you about the auto deployment. It’s a strong magnet so I imagine that works fine.Does make me wonder if I would’ve liked this even had it fit. I assume the magnet is strong enough to grip the tip of the baton and get it started deploying, then voila. I think it would take some practice to get used to. You’re committed once you pull. Which shouldn’t be a big issue. Eh, thinking I stick with my old basic one. The magnet trade off is you lose the option to holster the baton when extended. Never did much of that either though. It’s a cool idea, might be good. Same thing I thought about the hinged pistol holsters that allow you to rack the slide during your draw. Well, way less likely to hurt yourself with this thing. MehAnyway if you’re going to market your holster as universal might want to make sure it fits everything. There’s not a ton of different batons out there. They all operate on the same general principle.

Interesting, but different
This is a well made expandable baton holster. It rotates and has an openable belt clip. Both of those make it easier to use. Especially the belt clip. I love being able to add/remove things without having to undo my entire belt. The magnet the holds it is place is where it gets weird. Does it add to retention? absolutely. Does it entirely change the draw? also absolutely. It is a hard transition to make if you have more than a decade of one deployment style. So... I have not yet decided on if it is better and worth pursuing, or worse, and worth ignoring, or 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other and cube root of 36 of another... That will definitely be individual user preference. But, at least you can make that decision with one that is a nice quality if you get this one.

Excellent addition for my S&W baton
I don't often carry a baton with me, but I find them to be good peace of mind when walking after dark or wanting to have something on my person that gives me more of an advantage. The issue is that, frankly, the sheaths that most of these tools come with...suck. They are nylon, floppy, and super noisy. This hard scabbard fixes a lot of this. While not a subtle way to carry a baton, it hides just fine under a jacket or longer shirt if you prefer to be more discreet. The clip is wide enough for most any belt, and I rather like the magnetic function of it.The holster comes with an adjustment Allen wrench for increasing the tension or removing the magnet if you want a more passive draw (or lighter weight holster). In short, those wishing to carry a baton should look into this scabbard. It is well made, versatile, and offers an even quicker way to get your defensive tool into action without needing space to swing to draw or requiring complicated spring mechanims.

Holds my 17" ASP baton securely
I’ve been using the Orpaz Universal Self Defense Collapsible Baton Holder with my 17" ASP collapsible baton, and it does the job well. The magnet in the holder is strong enough to keep the baton secure, but not so strong that it makes getting it out a hassle. It holds the baton in place when I’m moving around, and I haven’t had any issues with it coming loose. One thing I really like is that when I pull the baton out, it extends automatically. No extra flick needed—it’s ready to go as soon as I grab it. That’s great in situations where I need to act fast. The 360-degree rotation is another practical feature. It lets me adjust the holder so it’s comfortable whether I’m standing, sitting, or on the move. Having that flexibility is great because I can avoid it digging into my side or being in the way.The build seems solid, and it feels like it’ll last. So far, it hasn’t loosened up or shown any signs of wear. Overall, it’s a reliable baton holder that works well with my ASP and keeps everything secure and easy to access.
