Great remote
This remote works through IR like a TV remote so I don't need to worry about pairing over bluetooth. IR bounces off surfaces well and at first I had the sensor on the floor and picked up the remote every time to play/pause but I've since refined this to make it seamless. I have the sensor in the corner crease of the passenger seat and then I have the remote velcro'd on the right wall of my middle island facing vertically. I also have a bit of velcro stuck on the plastic next to the play/pause button (not on the button itself which is rubber and will lose the stick easily), and this way when I want to play pause I can just reach down to the remote, feel where the play/pause button is with the velcro and press the button without even picking up or seeing the remote. The remote facing up works really consistently with the IR bouncing off the ceiling back down to the sensor. I really like this remote for my car because it's very compact and uses IR; the only one on amazon I could find with both attributes. The buttons certainly feel and work very well, just as quickly as using any other mouse or keyboard. The device shows up as an HID compliant mouse and keyboard in device manager so there really is no driver necessary. The remote sends IR signals to the included USB receiver that extends to about 2 feet, and the receiver shows as a mouse to Windows. All button controls work fine tested in Windows 10 1903 and 2004. The mouse pad is only 8-directional and a bit slow on screen but it works if you need to use it.An issue I've noticed over the few months I've had it is that very rarely, the laptop will stop processing some commands from the remote until I restart the computer. This has only happened twice over three months of daily use so I'd still consider this device very consistent and responsive. This seems to be more a spotify or Windows issue rather than with the remote itself so it would likely be rare issue with any other IR remote where the laptop itself is kept shut while using for audio.I also wanted the remote to work for wake from sleep, but it seems Windows on my laptop doesn't recognize the device in sleep mode so I haven't been able to get it to work. I did try unchecking the shut down devices and check allow to wake for USB hubs and the remote itself in device manager and Windows power options with no luck. You will probably need a computer with a BIOS that allows you to manually enable wake on USB. It's strange though as my Logitech wireless M570 can wake up Windows, but not this remote, so I'm not sure what is going on.The instructions for setting up programmable buttons are confusing but they essentially mean that you can use them in Windows programs that allow key mapping, like VLC or OBS, so you could set up button A to start recording in a capture program for example.Overall this remote is exactly what I wanted from it. It works exactly as you would expect it besides not being able to wake Windows from sleep on certain computers without the USB BIOS option.

Kinda works
I bought this unit to run "ReadyToControl", Shark CNC software. The XYZ controls seems to work fine. Seeing that is the major use, it is a success. The Flymouse does work. but it is too clunky to use for accurate software control. (Decided to use a track ball instead)"Hot Keys" are not programmable. They point to"CTL-ALT-A", etc, etc. Which is okay if you are opening a program, and can make a short cut on you desktop, and assign these hot keys in the properties of the short cut to open that program. If you can not make a short cut on your desktop for the functionality you want, that you would have to find some other workaround to make these functional. Some keys have layers of functions assigned. I found this pretty much worthless in my opinion. So instead of trying to get to the number function, I just added a wireless keypad to my setup.I tried to use a FLIRC receiver, with this remote, but it would not give a smooth XYZ continuous movement. So this receiver may work fine for HTCP use with this remote, it will not function correctly for CNC work. The receiver that this remote comes with will give good continuous XYZ movement for CNC work, but the design is kinda funky in my opinion. Range seems to be short, but for controlling a CNC, that is not a major issue, seeing you are usually always about an arms length for the machine when you are setting it up, so the right placement solves that issue. The remote size is really small, so it does not take up much space. The keys are also small, so if you have big fingers, that may not be a good thing.Bottom line.. For the price, not a bad deal, as long as you are willing to live with it's short comings.

No directions for use
It does seem to work, but without detailed user instructions it is impossible to determine what it is capable of. Using it to full advantage will require a lot of trial and error. The little sheet of Chinglish information is not very useful. Hopefully I can provide more detail on the future.

Shocking that it works exactly as advertised.
Awesome product. I still dont believe that the thing works exactly as advertised and even does "more" than advertised. The thing controls other features also. It has a mouse and left click / right click feature. It will open folders. Open your browser and I believe you can turn your system off using it. This is after 10 min of playing with it and the instructions says it can do more. I only wanted to play/pause/track forward/ backward my media player. Definitely worth the 9 dollars that i spent on it. I use winamp, so your media experience may be different.

Basically junk.
I bought this product so I can watch Netflix and Amazon prime video on my laptop without having to lean forward to change shows and stuff. Unfortunately it barely works when I try to use the directional buttons to navigate on Netflix or Amazon prime it does not work instead I have to use the mouse cursor control which also barely works. You cannot move the mouse diagonally only left right up and down. I would give it a one-star rating but it technically does some stuff. I'm using it on a gaming laptop with Windows 11.

Neat!
This is a functional product for simple tasks on your computer. No you won't be writing your amazon reviews with it, but for volume control and other basics it works like advertised. Battery not provided, which is annoying. The description says it uses CR2052 battery, but I couldn't find any such battery. The writing on the remote itself is so tiny as to be almost illegible, but I think it says CR2025. Which is a battery you can get with little trouble. It works with this battery in my remote, so, I guess it is correct. The other possibility is CR2032, which are too big, I believe to fit. Anyways, good product. For $7.99 you cannot go wrong.

Depends on what you want to use it with
Item works well with the exception of the joystick which moves the pointer, just not where you want it.Works well with buttons only on a Raspberry Pi Kodi.
