Buying these for years, great results, so I experimented!
I have bought Easy Spirit Traveltime and Travelport slip-ons for literally years. They come in so many nice-looking colors, materials, and patterns that I've bought them for all but the dressiest occasions. As I've gotten older, I seldom bother with evening gowns and the like, so my shoe "wardrobe" is almost exclusively from East Spirit. I even buy slightly wider or go up half a size when wearing bulkier socks, and go down when wearing thin Buster Brown plain cotton socks. Because I've found that the shoes are forgiving in terms of support/insole fit so that going up or down a bit doesn't affect comfort, I decided to do a experiment. My husband normally wears a size 9.5 W rather than his old size 9 Regular to accommodate his preference for loosely woven diabetic socks. (No, no foot or leg problems, he just likes the feel. He's been wearing slip-on shoes for some years now. One hip got damaged, possibly from too many judo falls, and his hip had to be replaced.) The rule of thumb is that men's shoes run 1.5 sizes larger than women' and figured out the size conversion, remembering that men's shoes are generally wider; for example, a D compared with a B-to-C in regular women's shoes. In my case, I usually wear an 8.5C, as I need a bit of extra room across the toes, but not at the heel, so I generally order 8.5 W in Easy Spirit and ignore the too large heel (best option in the summertime) when wearing the same brand of socks my husband wears, which are soft but slightly bulky. The alternative is to go up to a 9 medium or order the 8.5M and wear thin Buster Brown socks. In that case, I'd stretch the toe area a bit before wearing that size for any length of time. As I've indicated, the shoes are "forgiving", and as my size range is fairly popular, I'm flexible on choosing a size. As a result of my own experiences with the shoes over many years, I ordered size 11WW of the Travelport19 in the dark blue with tan trim for him. He couldn't find a decent men's boat-style shoe that wasn't either too hot and heavy or shoddily made. Happy to report that the experiment was a success! He likes the way they look, they feel great, when wearing his favorite socks his feet still have room, and he hasn't had to break the shoes in. He generally wears blue jeans or khakis, and he has to pack lightly for an upcoming trip, so these shoes should be just what he needs. One more note: These shoes wear surprisingly well and seem durable, but I rotate my choices throughout each season to give my favorites a rest, allowing them to air out. I always wear some kind of sock, which keeps the shoes cleaner on the inside, plus I gently spot clean the outside as well as the soles as needed. I've never had to put them through a washing machine, although I understand that is possible. When I discover that a particular pair just doesn't get worn often enough to justify keeping it because of wardrobe updates or personal preferences, I donate it to AMVETS or a similar organization such as Purple Heart, as my husband is retired military.

Comfortable without socks
Fit was mostly true to size. I find they are a little snug with socks. I would buy them again.

Easy Spirit mules
I got the blue ones and they look really good. They go with shorts, jeans or cute summer skirts. The sole seem to help from slipping. I wore them on a boat last week, no problems. I ordered a half size larger than my regular size and they are a bit loose. I wear them strictly with bare feet. I should have ordered my regular size.I’m curious as to how water proof or water repellent they are. If they are neither I’m wondering if I can use that shoe spray on them that repels water. But at this price I’m not going to be the Guinea pig.I do love them. Very comfy.

Favorite Style and Fit
I love this style of Easy Spirit. I order 1/2 size smaller in backless shoes so 7.5 fits perfectly. Gives great support and style. This is my second pair.

Order a size bigger
I ended up returning these because they were tight and narrow in the toe box and too short. Also, there was not enough arch support for me. I suggest others order at least 1/2 size up. They are very cute well made materials, but just too small and not supportive enough for me.
