Q: What is the effective capacity (length) for domestic 3 wire 13A electrical cable?

I've rolled 50 metres of 1.5mm flexible 3-core onto this quite happily. It'd probably take another 10 metres of the same to fill it up.

Q: how many uk sockets on it?

There are no sockets on the drum, you have to purchase them with the cable fix them yourself

Q: How big is it? And could i use this for a 5m long wire?

It's about 0.4m tall and I use them for 30m XLR cables with no problem

Q: What are the 4 small holes in the blue plastic cover plate for?

Most likely to store 2 pin continental plug. The main cable length is wound onto the main drum and a shorter length is wound onto the blue part. This allows the drum to stand on the floor and the short length to reach a wall socket.
