Great to use when space restricts sockets
easy setup, an addition to several smart tech i bought lately, these are good to use when sockets are in tight places because the switch is in line and quite small. I have used them on my lamps.I have used a different app because i already have other devices installed and thes switches connected easily. As you can see from the video they are very responsive with Amazon Echo

Plagued with problems unless you hack them.
2g network only, so like most routers which run combined you have to split your entire network and reset everything to a 2g/5g network. I did it to make the effort which was not small with 40+ smart home devices... God help someone not into all this. Worked once. Change to BT homehub 6 on fibre. Suddenly never works. Yes I tried compatibility mode. Next to the router. Everything else does work.. Smartthings..alexa..tplink sockets.. Hue bulbs/LED strips.. Even sirens and motion sensors from Ali express that I was warned off from! Only these sonoff 'basic' have failed me. I have arduino.. I'm not into hacking into this and Espeasy etc.. I just wanted something which replaced a £15 tplink socket. I wish I hadn't bothered. All that aside, having to carry earth outside the box for the UK is very ugly.Update: completely dead now.

ESP8266 IoT hacking on the cheap
Reasonable price, and so hackable. The Sonoff switches are basically ESP8266 micro-controllers with a relay attached.(LED is GPIO13, Relay is GPIO12, GPIO14 is on the programming header, GPIO0 is the button for reprogramming)The Itead service, while they try very hard, is based in an unreliable network in China. Most of the time it does work, and if you just want Alexa Skill integration, it does work most of the time... but if you're into Arduino, etc, you can run your own protocols, make them behave like Belkin sockets, tie them directly to your local MQTT server, or a combination of your choosing. If you're a coder type, who doesn't want multiple cloud accounts, look up fauxmo, to turn these cheapo gadgets into LAN based IoT things that Alexa just talks to... or just any of the ESP8266 projects online.

50/50 chance of it being faulty
ok so these work a treat once you get the right one. I first ordered a pack of 2... only one worked. I then ordered another pack of 2... again only one worked... and so i was left with 2 working and 2 which went back.Once they are plugged in they tend to work just fine. I did have days where we had a glitch but so far no issues at all. I have connected it to the ceiling light... not very accessible but i could reset it by simply switching it on and off from the mail wall switch. it will then by default reconnect to the wifi it was set up for. No need to really get to it.Overall i would give it 5 starts but as per above, 2 of the 4 ordered were faulty... I know my gadgets and electronics and i know they didn't work.

Good - but Update the manual!
A nice product but only managed to get it to work with the help of reviews left on here by others. It does not work if you follow the manual, however works perfectly if you use the "Compatibility" setup in the app (so, ignore the instructions!).Seems to work nicely and working well with Alexa and Google Home. Only dropped a star because of the poor and incorrect instructions.

Great switches for the price
These are really good switches considering the price, as some others have commented the initial pairing can be a challenge if you try to follow the instructions, but if you use the App (EWeLink) and use the compatibility set up and follow the instructions it goes straight in.Really pleased with this and so far working a treat, added bonus is it works well with Alexa.

But since that its been working great for month or so now
I had a but of difficulty initially setting this up. The instructions arent too clear and it was a combination of trial and error and switching off and on to get it up and running. But since that its been working great for month or so now. I use it to remotely control my heating. When setting up i foundb it easier to hold down button 4 until the device starts transmitting its own wifi. Then connect to it using the app and set up that way. Then turn off and on. Worked for me!

Good remotely controlled switch
The switch works well, the app is simple but ok.The setup requires a working internet connection, it cannot be used even locally without it.
