Nichrome is usually used for high temperature furnaces in the heat treating, ceramics, glass, steel, and electronic industries. Other common applications include: heating elements (hair dryers, ovens, toasters, kilns), model and high power motor and recovery charge ignition, heat sealers, poly cutters, foam cutters, resistors, rheostats, current-temperature controls, lab inoculating loops, release mechanisms, ceramic support in kilns.

The resistance was measured as 133 ohms / metre at 16 degrees centigrade which is within expected measurement and manufacturing tolerance. The wire diameter was measured as 0.1mm +/- 0.01mm with a micrometer. I was looking for thin resistance wire and this will work in my application. I have not checked the ratio of nickel to chromium or if there are any impurities. The wire is wound on a small plastic reel and appears to be kink free.
