Red plastic coating chips off.
Bought this in 2017. Boat has been stored inside my garage since then with only 2 outings. It works and fits great but after 6 years the red plastic coating is cracking and chipping off of the string that runs thru the center. String didn't break but coating is shot. I don't trust it to do its job anymore so I bought a new one just like it.I'll coat it with some marine 303 protectant which I didn't do on my original lanyard from 2017.Like I said, I trust the string, not the plastic coating.

Works as advertised
I didn't really need all the variations, but this was the cheapest, yet highly rated, option. Seems to made of high quality plastic, fits my 40hp Merc perfectly, and should last a good while.

Worked perfectly
Boat is a Sugar Sand Tango; with Sugar Sand having exited the business, parts cannot be ordered from them. I mislaid one of my two lanyards and needed to get a replacement or two just in case I got careless again. The Tango has an Evinrude-style switch - a button on top a mushroom stem - so the key needs to be the three-prong over/under type. These worked perfectly and cost less than what I recall paying the dealer for a single key 15 years ago.
