Good for my plants. Good for the planet. Great for me.
This year I decided to make my own seed starting mix. Buying bags of it is so expensive PLUS they all contain peat moss. I had done a lot of reading online about how destroying peat bogs is a huge carbon drain. They are similar to rainforests in their benefit to the planet and life on it. I was going to use coconut coir but in a committed drive to heal this planet I wanted something better. I search and discovered Pittmoss through a regenerative flower farmer I follow on Instagram.Pittmoss was super easy to use. It mixed with the other ingredients very easily. My seeds are just in their new beds. I'm excited about discovering its moisture-retaining qualities at this misting/watering intensive growth period. Thanks for providing an option where I can feel great about my choices.

Pleasantly surprised
We thought we would give PIttmoss a try and we are delighted to report that our seedlings are thriving and the moisture level holds SOOOO long....but NOT soppy wet. It is just perfect. We used both the Prime and Plentiful for our seeds and for potting up. My only complaint is that the stores in our area of California do not stock Pittmoss. They need to catch on!!

Pricey....
First time I'm using this stuff, I like how fluffy and clean it is, I can't give any type of growers review about it cause I haven't grown anything with it yet but next year we will see...

Worth a try.
I like the concept because I have read about the depletion of peat. However it really holds water so it is important to understand the soil where you are using it and the requirements of what you are planting. We have had a very wet growing season so I have been turning my beds to keep everything aerated. A plus is the ease of handling.

Amazing recycled moss!
I used this in my container garden and cut down on using water. I love the fact that I not only saved water, but this product is also recyclable, made from paper. SO amazing. I will definitely order more for Spring planting. Ginny

Best Peat Moss Ever!
I am an experienced vegetable gardener. I have tried many brands of peat moss but this one is exceptional. It actually has large “flakes” of peat moss where most are nearly a powder. It is soft to the touch and really gives some volume for holding moisture around the roots of a newly dug-in plant. I use it too for placing in the hole with seeds. This is great stuff and my vegetables will be all the better for it!

I will keep using this product and not peat moss.
A great product. Use as directed and plants are thriving.I will keep using this product, no reason to destroy the environment for peat moss or ship peat moss from other countries anymore.

Ugly ground up trash!
Maybe I did not read carefully enough. This stuff looks like ground up newspapers, dryer lint and trash. It is grey in color so it does not match the soil. I can't imagine what nutrive value it has for the plants other than to soak up water. You must cover it up with real soil and it comes up when you water. It was expensive and yes I like that it claimed to be green. I will never buy it again. I paid top dollar for someone else's trash. How sanitary is this?!
