Love it, look no further
Quality is much better than I expected. Well made, well put together and quiet considering the power it puts out.Its a grinder so its easy to use, you can trim and shape the nails so there not sharp. ( it prevents them from getting stuck on blankets, rugs etc and they wont scratch themselves. especially with flea season coming up or after a fresh haircut)There is two openings to it, one smaller for smaller dogs, and one large for the big dogs. the rest is protected by plastic to prevent touching it by accident. But I did jam my finger in it to test how it felt and to see how strong and fast it was spinning. it didn't bog out and it feels the same as one of those dead skin / calist foot grinder thingys.A++

Great product for patient, small animal
I used to use a regular Dremel tool on my adult boxer but figured it would be too powerful/fast to use on my new puppy so I decided to try this tool out due to the rave reviews. It is solidly built and does not look or feel cheap. It seems to have good power yet is very quiet. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the grinding wheel is a fine grit that takes a while to grind a nail compared to what I was used to. It works fine other than that. I ended up getting a Dremel 7300PT that's made for this purpose so it has slower speeds and is quieter than a regular rotary tool. It grinds much quicker and that works better with a restless puppy. The Innopaw grinder should be fine with a patient small animal. For a medium or larger sized dog, I imagine it will take a a minute or more per nail unless you trim them every few days. If you choose to go the Dremel route, it doesn't have the cap with guards so you do have to be careful if the animal has longer hair on its paws. Mine has short hair so that's never been a problem for me. The Dremel is also more prone to vibrating the nail because of the rougher grit so if you have a skittish pet, the Innopaw would likely be easier on them as well. If nothing else, this would be a great tool for rounding the edges of traditionally clipped nails.

great for small puppies
I have a 3 month old chihuahua, she is absolutely tiny not even 3 lbs yet. Let me tell you, the first time was a little difficult, mainly because of the vibration and her wiggling around. But halfway through she was completely chilled out. I have trimmed her nails 3 times so far with the small side. I would suggest maybe holding your puppy's or small dog's toes with some pressure so that the motor doesn't pull on their nails and vibrate as much, it also makes it go by a lot faster. I was super worried about doing this wrong but as long as you PAY ATTENTION to where the quick is, and how your dog is feeling/reacting, this is a full 5/5 stars. Easy to clean, inexpensive and works great. I would buy it again if I had to for whatever reason

Gentle and safe but takes some time
This product works pretty well. Used it on my 3yr old, 35 pd mixed pitbull with very thick and long nails and it did the job after 3 sessions. Its relatively quiet but it does vibrate obviously, and took him some getting used to it. He hates getting his nails clipped and throws a HUGE fit. i was sick of the hassle and always scared i would hurt him so i purchased this. His nails were quite long, so it took about 3 seperate sessions to get them down. I found if i held his nail tight and pushed it into the grinder it works better then just holding the paw. Its very gentle and safe and i was able to do it on my own ,but i do wish it had more power. If your dog is super super fussy and terrified with the clippers, this is a good alternative. Gentle, and safe but takes some time.

This little grinder runs well, seems to be fairly quiet but still has a pretty good buzzing sound from the motor and works when I have been able to utilize it. Neither of my dogs want anything to do with it! I've only been able to use it once or twice on our larger Lab/Shepard mix but she doesn't like the sound. When I turn it on the buzzing sound irritates her so she wants to eat it. I bought based on solid reviews of the product and others saying that it is much more quieter than others on the market, which may be true but it still does buzz pretty good while running. Maybe the more that I work with them they will let me use it but right now haven't been able to use the product as planned.

best 10 buck gift to my friend and I
Great for small pets 15 pounds and under if you are using this to do nail trimming once a month.Great for pets 15 pounds to 40 pounds to keep them nicely down between major nail trimming.40 pounds and bigger, if the nails are very thick I think you need to do research for a more heavy motor grinder. This was great for helping my friend with his Chi of 6 pounds who has black nails, went without any nail care due to her being a biter. This was safe and easy to use, so if she would jump to bite me, she can't get hurt. This does go through a set of batteries, they end up being remote batteries because there is still enough power but not enough for the nail grinder, this is with a Chi 6 pounds long black nails. She now can walk and is less scared of nail trimming time.So I would say if you have black nails, small animals, or any pet (big or small) that needs to get use to their nails and the sounds, this is by far the best random cheap 10 bucks I used all year. Better than the 12 bucks with Humble Bundle.Great for beginners as well. But if you are in a rush to learn how to angle it, then just don't buy it.Also I still use clippers with these to make really long nails go by faster but the first nail I always use the grinder first to tell me how far to go down with the clippers.I am happy with this and glad to have given it to my friend to get the chi use to it more.

Compact, Powerful and Silent
Worked as described on our 22lb Jack-A-Poo. Clipped the nails first but could have just used the nail grinder to file them down to the proper length. Excellent price and fast shipping... very happy pooch.
