Not top of the line but good price to value relationship
I had a rather weird situation in my house, with dog doors set up previously for a 45 lb Airedale Terrier, now deceased, with a new 9lb Jack Russel Terrier puppy. The particular dog door in question was one mounted in a heavy metal door leading to an outside pen from my garage. The former and smaller door was just a tad bit too high off the ground for the Jack Russel to use it without having to do acrobatics. Rather than replacing the door, I had the bright idea of putting an even larger door in but mounting it much lower, so the smaller dog could use it easily.Installation was quite difficult, as the metal door was hard to cut through and my friend's electric sawzall type contraption did not make straight cuts through the door. We had to use snips and files and multiple sawzall cuts in order to expand the hole for this door. The end result was not pretty however once we got the door in there, the inner and outer flanges hid 99% of our mistakes in cutting out the hole, and it looks good.We did find that the template was less than useful, perhaps because cutting through the metal door was such a chore. The mounting holes for the enclosed hardware did not line up with where the door actually went. In the end, we drilled new holes. The included installation hardware is total garbage, and we ended up using some sheet metal screws I had lying around which did the job nicely. The door itself is a bit lightweight but it does work well. The plastic door flap itself didn't seal all that well initially, but after the dog went through it a half a dozen times it now seems to seal nicely and doesn't leave any large air gaps. All in all, for the price, this door is a good compromise between an even cheaper plastic door frame at the low end, and one of those ultra dog doors costing $200+, for your Westminster Dog Show winner. The outer and inner mounting flanges are large enough to cover all but the most egregious installation errors, and it should come out looking pretty good. My one caution would be to not bother drilling the 6 holes in the template on each side, as they likely will not line up with the holes on the actual door frames once you get the cutout made, unless your installation is a lot easier than ours was.

I have a 96 pound dog that uses this constantly and I have never had any problems with it. It's well built and durable plus it closes without any gaps which keeps the cold air out. It's been mch better than the previous one I had that was a different brand and had the flexible plastic door on it.

Decent constructed product
Dog loves it so it gets some stars. You can tell it’s cheaply made as you screw it in and the metal gaps start getting bigger. Beware installing in a metal door as you cut-I recommend stenciling both sidesPrior to cutting. Door was thick so I had to get longer machine screws (#8a).

Not superior
Easy to install, the directions are in large writing that's nice. But the magnet at the bottom that's supposed to swing shut and sort of keep the wind out, doesn't! Now we have to make a make shift barrier to the wind. After buying a new door to install this thing we can't very well take it out and return it for a better shutting option. So we will tweak it so there is more of a barrier to the wind.

DO NOT buy this
The flap is crooked so there is a gap on one side not only large enough to let air in but also mosquitoes. the weighted bottom strip does not keep it closed even in a slight wind. I now have to find another pet door the same size or replace the entire door,

doesn't hold up
We installed and 2 days later the door had already fallen off. We don't have huge dogs, just labs.
