As fast as i can possibly imagine and up to standard in 2021?
Well this is the newest phone i've owned in recent years. I'm coming from almost a decade of Sony and Blackberry phones and never strayed from that practice up until now. I have to say this has been one of the best phones i've purchased regardless of price up until today with only the Sony Z ultra coming close for its time a few years ago.Being a 2 year old phone i think some would assume it's lacking some features or cutting edge tech, and there probably is a few things on the market this phone doesn't have, but as far as basic usability, this thing works really well for me.I've noticed only a few idiosyncrasies that largely do not take away from my experience but have been notably in comparison to previous phones. For one, i've noticed Android has started to gravitate more towards the single button (do all) design of IOS and it kind of annoys me that this is something they are really pushing and not trying to support the 3 button layout anymore as seen with some apps just not liking it and it being somewhat of a problem when trying to use the keyboard. One thing that Sony did really well was stay with the side mounted fingerprint scanner which has its pro's and cons, but already i've noticed that the onscreen scanner does not always work as well as it has with my older sony phones. Although it's impressive tech and has positives over the side mount button, overall i've had more problems and inconsistent scans. It also doesn't help that the screen is so glossy that trying to do the password pattern sometimes gets sticky and annoying to use. With the negatives out of the way. I think the most impressive thing for me is just how black the screen is and how vibrant the colors are compared to my previous Sony screens. Even though the Sony screens sometimes had better overall resolution, they never had the ultimate black levels this phone can produce. While this may not be a surprise to anyone wit newer phones, this was a very pleasing enhancement for me and i'm sure plenty of people would appreciate just how nice the screen is for this price. I've used newer Iphones and a Xiomi phone, but i really couldn't say they looked any better and certainly not with the stupid notch or camera hole in the screen.OH DID I FORGET TO MENTION.... no notch or screen hole!!!I'm sure this is one of the only big selling point for people still interested in this phone and others like the Sony lineup, but yes, it is that refreshing to not have such horrible design issues. It really is that much more immersive to not have those problems compared to whatever bonus you may get from other companies who've decided to go that route. So far I've used the pop up selfie cam maybe 20-30 times and accidentally activated it a handful and so far no problems with it's actuation and camera quality. The noise of the motor has changed a bit, which is discerning, but as long as it doesn't get stuck in the up position, i really don't care if it breaks. The primary camera system on the back works perfectly for my needs and the camera app is as good as i need it, mixing in a bit of the standard IOS interface with some added function you'd expect from Android. I think a dedicated camera button on the bottom right would have been nice considering how thin the edges are. But using the sound button as a capture button works well if you remember to position your hand correctly. With that you can take some good photo's that are reasonably fast action. So with that, the big question remains. Will it last for a few more years before having to upgrade?I would surely hope so. I don't see 4k video becoming standard enough to worry about it potential causing a problem with storage space and internet speed, and the 5g service when i get it, seems to be running fast enough with the current service processing on the phone. It would be nice if there was a way to easily toggle 5g on/off so 4g would readily connect faster, but maybe that wont be a problem in 2-3 years in big cities. So yes, i think it's still safe to buy this phone with its 2019 tech in 2021-2022 certainly if it can be had at around 500 dollars USD.MUCH RECOMMENDED!!!PS - YES THIS IS A VERY NICE LOOKING PHONE AND THE BOX PRESENTATION IS VERY CLASSY AS WELL!

Extremely happy, amazing deal, beautiful phone!
I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase thus far! I can't believe I received this less than 24 hours after ordering 😲. I was worried that shipping would take long, or that the phone would arrive with damage or missing original packaging or chargers. I read so many reviews over the course of 2 weeks and although most were positive, the negative reviews had me hoping I didn't experience what those folks did. Look at the beauty in the pictures! The box did have a one corner pushed in a bit, but there was no damage to the device. This was such a great value compared to newer devices. The specs are what matter to me and I refuse to pay over $1k for a Samsung that has the same RAM and storage as this beauty. Everything was perfect. I was extremely surprised to see ALL original packaging and accessories. The WARP charger is crazy fast! 20 min of charging brings my phone to 90% charge. With my amount of use I charge once halfway through my day. I had ordered a clear OtterBox case because I want sure if a case would come with the phone already, which again to my surprise it came with a Mclaren phone case. I still used the clear one to show off the beautiful back cover of my Mclaren edition phone! I switched from Cricket to Metro by T-Mobile due to network compatibility and I was able to do so very seamlessly. I'm still trying to get used to the layout and app drawers. I was so used to other Android app drawers already ☹️. I never use face recognition of fingerprint reader on any device so I can't tell you yet if it works. I did notice on one particular phone call while using my bluetooth headset the call sounded like the other person was under water and a second call where the call just kept breaking up. I'm not sure if that is my headset yet. Speaker and earpiece work fine. I will update if any issues. Extremely happy with my purchase for less than $600. What a great freaking deal!

Great screen, super fast, battery a bit lackluster
This is a great phone, even in 2021. It easily rivals a lot of modern offerings at an attractive price. I actually chose this model over the 8 Pro due to similar spec. and much lower price. This model can expect the O11/Droid11 update sometime soon as well. There's no memory card slot but 256GB is a lofty amount of storage and this thing performs very well. Tmo's 5G service is exceptional, it's fast and coverage is very strong - at least in my area. The speeds easily blew my cable 'net service away. I can really only come up with one flaw for this phone and that's it's battery life. I understand it has quite a power demanding spec. sheet but I was hoping for a little bit better out of the battery. It helps that I can charge it in around 30 minutes though with the warp charger. Gorgeous screen, neat hide-a-way front camera, 5G, powerful processor and GPU and 12GB of RAM make this phone a powerhouse. If you're considering it, go for it. This model has T-Mobile branding on start up but very little bloat and should work with other US GSM providers without issue. This is my first OnePlus phone and I think I'm a convert.Ps. I wanted to just add that this phone IS network unlocked out of the box as opposed to what some reviewers says. See screenshot.
