BATTERY OPERATED CLOCK MOVEMENT WITH HANDS

This set is exactly what I wanted. It is smaller than other clock hands that I have seen on Amazon but it fits the clock that I have. Yes it does tick a bit loudly but as I have that clock in an area that is in a different room I don't really care. This does exactly what I want it to and the price was right.

I bought 20 of these for a project I did with my middle school art students. They painted color wheels on old LPs and then we added the clockworks-the 12 colors in lieu of numbers. They were easy enough for my 6th graders to put together. The plastic hands were cheap but so was the price. I thought it was a good value.

I think they will work fine but I ordered the wrong size so I do not have them in a clock yet.

I used this clock movement to replace one that had worked for 35 years. It fit the clock face opening and the hands were easy to attach. It h kept good time since I started it up several weeks ago.

Hands a little big but cut them , made it work

There are several things which have to match up for these units to be successful replacements. The center shaft needs to be long enough. I just tried to fit two units to two different dead clocks and both were too short. I needed 1/2" and the replacements only had 1/4". The smaller shafts which move the hands may be either press fit or threaded. The mechanisms have no threads.I would not order without being able to visually inspect and measure these. Otherwise you are wasting money.Delivery was quick from American Science and Surplus.

The title says it all; this was not the quieter replacement I had hoped for. Still, our old clock movement had broken, and this has been an inexpensive but reliable replacement. The company that sold it (American Science & Surplus) is great!

The hands are a bit short for my application, but the works are fine and are ok for my use. Would work best for a small clock.
