This was purchased to help my nephew move to Alabama from Ohio for a job change. The carrier arrives mostly assembled in a large mania manufacturer box and not in amazon packaging. So do be aware of that when ordering. The big basket is what we affectionately names this product was able to mount on the small roof of a fiat. Using ratchet tire downs and a elastic bungee tour cargo net we could fit quite a bit of household items that could be exposed to the elements during the road trip. The basket didn’t rattle or come loose thanks to the hardware included.

Used this with crossbars for a 1000 plus mile trip to carry heavy items on the roof. It worked out well! To remove from rack, we left it attached to crossbars and just removed the crossbars from the rails, so it's ready to go quickly without having to reinstall it all over again.
