Excellent memory card reader. Has everything you need (minus the memory card), to add more storage space. In my case, to my 32GB Samsung Galaxy S6 phone, which lacks an external microSD memory card slot.**NOTE** Your phone must be OTG (On The Go) capable. If you don't know what that means, just Google it. You could only have a 32GB or 64GB S6 phone, which was dumb-butt stupid. 32GB was depleted quickly, and the 64GB phone was way overpriced. Sounds like something dumb the minions at Apple would do, "where compliance is mandatory." :)Today is 02APR2017, and a few days ago, they announced the upcoming 20APR2017 release of the Galaxy S8. It's supposed to be extremely expensive, but worth it. I was very close to planning on upgrading my S6 to S8, for the specific purpose of having a good phone with an external memory card slot.Thank God I didn't. That would have been another $900+ phone, and another 2yr commitment. My S6 is still a very good phone, minus the missing microSD card slot. More importantly, I only owe $80 more until it's paid off. Works great. The first one I ordered came squished and damaged in shipping... I contacted Amazon and they sent a replacement. After using it for a few weeks now, I am impressed. Its pretty light weight but the plastic shell is sturdy. The USB connector you just put your finger nail in and it pops out so you can use the micro USB part. Its pretty cool. It seems overly intricate though and not sure how long the micro usb/usb part will last since there is a tiny lever mechanism that i think will wear out over time. But for now it works really good! I think it will last at least 3 or 4 years. But for what It can do and the price, its really not bad at all! i love it. Like you could transfer pictures to your friends phone way faster than using wifi to transfer pics and large video files. So yeah its cool.

I take a lot of pictures at work, I usually have to hook up my camera to down load the pictures because the card readers I have won't work on the tower to the computer at work. The way it's built when I would plug in a reader the card was unable to be put in it. This Card reader is perfect, for when I plug it in the tower, the sd slot is at the top and it works perfectly! I am thrilled because I will no longer have to get my cable cord out and hook to my camera and then computer tower! Problems solved. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a portable usb reader/writer!

I bought this because my old SD Card reader had failed. When it failed I went to WalMart and bought the only SDCard reader they had. That one was only USB 2.0. I figured USB 2.0 would be fast enough. I was wrong. I use a GoPro with a 128gb Samsung SD Card. It breaks up the video into 2GB files, which is great for benchmarking. Using the command line on my Mac, I used the time command to time how long it’d take to copy two different files that are both exactly the same, off of the SD card and onto my NVME internal storage disk. This nice new Type C USB 3 adapter, 23.74 seconds. The piece of junk I got from WalMart, 1 minute, 54 seconds! That makes this reader all but five times faster!! And that was only 2GB, imagine if I needed to dump a whole 128gb off that card! I love that this has both normal USB A ports, as well as the new USB C ports, because, as you know, all of the current MacBooks only have USB C ports. It’s nice not having to use an adapter on those devices.So yeah, the price is pretty awesome. The device actually works. This is the one you should be buying. No regrets.

Since I use lots of SD card storage and I’m constantly transferring files, this was the exact piece I needed. I chose the USB 3.0 which works flawlessly and has fantastic speed. Came in 2 days. There are a few reasons to choose this handy piece:First off, lots of PC’s and laptops DO NOT have SD card slots which caught me by surprise. But every PC and Laptop has a USB slot. So this come into use.Second, the speed is really fast. Normally on a regular SD card adapter transfers files normally around 15-20MBs per second. This however does it at around 85MBs per second. So ironically, I use this over SD card adapters. (Note: this was on USB 3.0)Thirdly, the size is perfect. It easily fits into any pocket and a decent build. Has two protecting cases on the end of the USB slot and type C which is nice.Just to confirm, I tested all components work perfectly fine and no defects for me. You could use both the SD card and Micro SD card slot at the same time, though I’m almost sure your speeds will slow down.Overall, it’s super worth it and good to have even just lying around. And it’s a great price so you have really not much to lose. Highly recommended for anyone and heavy duty transferring.

I bought this so I could easily view footage recorded on to my microsd cards, on my phone. This piece of crap seems to just immediately format/remove all previously loaded data on whatever SD card you have inserted(micro or standard). Making it completely useless since it just wiped every single time. Tried it in multiple devices(multiple computers, multiple phones) with multiple cards(different capacities, as well as standard and micro equivalents), and it does the same thing no matter what.Pretty pissed off since I only found this issue after needing to view some footage that was recorded.

I was initially turned onto this product after watching MKBHD's video on his everyday carry tech bag and noticed this gem and decided to purchase the card reader and so far i am very impressed. The selling point for me was the portability factor i can put it in my bag or pocket and save alot of room compared to average readers that are medium size boxes with a cable attached. The speed is fast being USB 3.0 and has all the ports necessary with micro SD and SD slots as well as usb type c. the build quality feels nice in the hand and has caps that have a satisfying and firm click the only down side and it is very small but on the edges of the caps there is some small thin plastic that is left over from the mold but can be easily scraped off with your nail for a clean edge, other than that i am very happy and would highly recomend.

Pretty nice product, the aluminum casing is MUCH nicer than the plastic version of this card reader for a tiny amount of expense...Their support folks couldn't resolve my question about why file modification dates were not being preserved in file transfers, but offered to refund my money which was a nice gesture; some things are beyond the comprehension of God himself, and for the time being, I am slotting this HORRIFIC defect - which cropped up in the Android File Transfer application on the Macintosh well over a year ago - into that category!thanks,Rosie-Anne Quvus AKA "Carla Satana"

After trying a number of docking solutions for my 2019 MacBook (thanks Apple for only USB-C...not) , I finally gave up and ordered this little card reader. It works. Transfer speeds are good, card reader works as advertised. Only negative comment I have is that I can't use it on my Mac with the port next to it being used by anything. This reader is too wide and takes up too much space. But for the price, I can deal with a bit of inconvenience for a few seconds.

I TRIED TO USE THIS PRODUCT ON BOTH MY LAPTOP AND DESKTOP and NEITHER COULD READ anything so I was unable to get my pictures onto either device. I tried a few different ways, but non made a connection. I was very disappointed and should probably return it or have them contact me or send me a replacement in case this was not the normal lissue.. It was not expensive BUT if they are grabbing $9 from everybody with a device that doesn't work they are making a killing. Anybody else have this problem?

I got this for the Tesla Model 3 specifically for Sentry mode. It pops into my USB hub in the center console and I can easily pop it out and plug it directly into my phone and using the third party app watch all the footage the car recorded. While the newest update on the car now allows you to watch the footage on the main screen, I still occasionally take it inside and watch it on the phone and not in the car.

A bit bigger than expected, but works great on my PC/laptop. I was hoping that I could also use it as an adapter for my Google Pixel 2 Android phone to view files, but it apparently won't work for that purpose (the phone can use it to expand memory onto a card inserted into the adapter, but not to view photos or videos taken on my DSLR and stores on an SD card). Still, happy with the unit because it will work with both of my laptops.

This works great for me. I have several older SD cards (8MB) that were just sitting un-used. I used windows media player to convert my books on CD to MP3 files and then put one book on each SD card I had, then used this device to play books in my car. (my car has no CD player- just a USB input). So I am very happy that I have found a way to use up my old SD cards. I also like the fact that one end is USB C for future use.

It works great. I bought an mp3 player which isnt here yet and needed to move my music to a micro sd, my laptop has an sd slot, however it hasnt been working properly lately and i didnt want to corrupt the new microsd i bought, fast file transfers, i moved around 15gb of music in small portions at a time in around an hour and a half with no file errors or corruption warnings, and it only took an hour and a half because i was moving in sets instead of all at once for organization and picking purposes.. the real kicker is when i got curious and plugged it into my phone and was able to move files in between the microsd and my phone very easily, my music got picked up by my phone and it showed as a usb drive, works amazingly.
