Sunrise Angler 4 Inch Bluegill Jointed Swimbait | Sinking Hard Bait Fishing Lure for Freshwater Game Fishing with Textured Lifelike Skin, Curvy 'S' Swim and 3D Prismatic Eyes

I purchased this lure to round out my tackle. While I figured these would be effective, I had no idea just how capable these would be. I was shore-fishing on a branch of the James River here in central RVA (Richmond Virginia) mainly just to get a line out (worst day fishing still beats a day at the office). I caught a pair of smaller smallmouth bass, but that was sort-of a given since these lures mimic baitfish/crappie in distress with their action. Ran the lure about 12 to 18 inches deep (give or take) with a Daiwa spincasting reel, 8lb red mono line on a Zebco rod (the one that comes with a Zebco 33 set). I've caught many a fish with this kit, but I haven't ever seen a smallmouth hit a lure so hard.The rain slowed down and before I left, I decided to play around and run them as deep as I dare (lots of snags in the James) using a leader, and Shazam! Catfish! Yep, caught a pair of small catfish with the lighter-bellied lure. Certainly not what I expected to catch on a miserable rainy day fishing from the shore.What you get:2 lures, each is quite lifelike- one has a darker belly, the other lighter- 2 stupid-sharp treble hooks on each* Seriously, this is the first lure in a long time I didn't feel I should touch up the tips prior to my first cast- the plastic "spoon" on at the head of each lure is broad enough to work over with a file on one side or the other to make for an even more-erratic action. I haven't done this yet; don't know if I will but the option is there for those who like to fine-tune- the barbs are small but flare perfectly. I didn't even have to set the hook when the smallies hit the lure. When I was running deeper and caught the catfish, I set the hook and focused on managing the drag since channel cats in the James seems to enjoy collecting lures and this was one that I didn't want to lose on a deep run.- the finish on these lures is pretty dark good. No chipping or peeling. I haven't had 'em long enough to tell long-term how they're gonna hold up, but my experiences with lures are that if they're going to lose the finish, they do it right away and these held up perfectly- be sure to have a set good needle-nose pliers or hook extractor. I really wasn't expecting to spike my own fingers three times pulling the hooks. I forgot my pliers and the hooks will EASILY reinforce the error of your waysWhy you should buy these: For an average hobby-fisherman like myself, these lures reap returns without breaking the bank. For anybody with a lot of fishing experience, I feel these are a great addition to the journeyman's tacklebox, and they certainly perform above expectations.

Very nice action, and looks like the real thing in the water. On the large size, but should be perfect for large mouth bass and pike. Fare price and well made.

Gor mine recently. Shipping was lightning fast! They look excellent and cant wait to try them out fishing. In the water (test run) they truly look like a delicious little bluegill that Bass will love. Will follow up... I’m may put some beefier hooks because I’m expecting some lunker Bass to crush this bait!

Haven't had a chance to use yet due to weather conditions but it is exactly what he wanted.
