This light strip really does light up the throat space of my Viking Megaquilter. It is long enough that I ran it from the right side of my 8.5" throat space to the left, across the inside of the head and back to the right side. It is bright enough I wanted it all facing downward, so could not run around the outside of the head. It does have a dimmer in the switch, which is nice, but even at the dimmest setting, would not want to be looking at the LEDs as I sew. The dimmer is continuous, not stepwise, and has to be run all the way up or down before you can go the other way, but that doesn't take long, so not really a problem. I did reposition it slightly when I first put it on and that does not seem to have caused any problems with it sticking. The package included 5 or 6 small stick-on clips to guide the cord around from the end of the light strip to off the sewing space, which are very helpful. I found 2-3 were plenty, but extras are nice, in case I change my mind about where I want the cord to go when I move the machine from a table to my quilting frame, which I have not tried yet. However, I am very hopeful that this will completely solve the problem of not seeing where I've been when quilting on the frame down in my basement with less than perfect lighting. It has certainly helped at night in my inset table that sits in front of a window and was fine in the daytime but not as good as I would have liked at night. .

Light color is pretty blue. I wish this was available in neutral or warm temperature. Powered by a usb it's simply not going to be very bright. It's an adequate light comparable to an older sewing light and I find the dimming feature unnecessary. The price is pretty good and I'll use it under my industrial sewing machine table to give a little light around the motor when I need it. My 30 led magnetic sewing light is significantly brighter and has a more pleasant neutral color. This is not completely useless Its not better than my old light either.

Was just as described. It’s bright for what it is. It helped with lighting on my machine. I wish it was a little brighter. The adhesive is great, easy to install, and good extra lighting while I work without being in the way. It’s good cuz it sticks to the machine w/o having to worry about where I put it so it’s not in the way while I work. Would recommend this, worth the price!

I like EVERYTHING about this item! I have one for my sewing machine, one for my embrodery machine and one for my granddaughters machine!

Easy to apply. Helps to get light where you need it to see your seam and stitches, which has become more difficult the older I get.

Ehhhh... was hoping for so much more. The light strip certainly adds light to the work space, just not that bright. I only had to cut about 2in off the length, but if you have a small throat space on your machine, this is a total waste of time. It is very affordable for task lighting so that is a plus, however it will not climate the need for an overhead or desk lamp.

Difficulty to remove adhesive backing. Directions could have been better. Placement on my sewing machine did not provide as much light over work surface as expected.
