Don't Use for Patio Light Application
I am sure this wire works well for the correct application, but DO NOT purchase this wire if you intend to string up and support String Lights. Amazon recommended that i purchase this product along with the Globe String Lights i was buying and i couldn't recommend this wire less for that job.Unless you are extremely careful when unwinding this wire, it will get tangled and kinked. Once the wire is tangled and kinked, it is nearly impossible to straighten out. The best wire to use for string lights, or any application that requires removing tension with a turnbuckle or direction changes, would be a braided wire. I ended up using a 16 gauge braided wire for my project and it worked great.

Nice heavy wire, used this for art projects, left overs were used to make trellis for the garden

Not for Hanging Heavy Duty String Lights
Terrible for hanging string lights. As other reviewers have confirmed, the wire stretches with weight making it difficult to hang lights with. Also, because it is in a roll, the wire maintains some of the wave shape once hung. If you're hanging heavy duty string lights, I would recommend looking at vinyl-coated steel cable (not wire) which will stretch flat once hung.

Used to hang string lights
Used this as a support for string lights to cover an expanse of 30 feet, and has worked perfectly so far.

Perfect for the job
This was ideal for hanging my strand lights across our pool deck area. A storm with strong winds came thru and the lights barely moved.

yet easy to twist and bend
I've gone through 3 of these. The wire is the right gauge for tying mesh panels to my goat fencing. I tried using 14 gauge wire and it was just too difficult to twist. 16 gauge is strong enough, yet easy to twist and bend.

Good Wire
This is decent wire! I used it primarily to stretch carrying wires between poles and my house to hold outdoor party lights. I installed this wire with small turnbuckles to keep it snug, then I hung the party lights from it....using zip ties. The lights have been up for a few months, and this wire has not stretched or sagged...even after wind storms of 70 MPH or more (we're in the mountains of Colorado, and big wind events are common).I was an ironworker, and we used 16 gauge tie wire to tie rebar together for concrete reinforcement. The galvanized coating on this wire has held up to the elements for the few months of exposure to date, and it cuts and handles very much like tie-wire.I'm using the remainder for odd jobs, such as guying off an outdoor Christmas tree on our deck.Tie wire comes tightly coiled for use on a reel, but it's a lumpy coil. This larger, smooth coil allows the wire to lay out straight with little coaxing.Very pleased.
