Totally Bamboo Pennsylvania State Shaped Bamboo Serving & Cutting Board

I bought this cutting board to replace an old bamboo one. It looks like it is made really well and is large enough to cut food comfortably with a chef's knife. I haven't tried it out yet to test the durability, but it looks like it should last a long time as long as it is washed and dried promptly (like every wooden cutting board should be). Even if it does start to get too many cuts in it over time, I'll just flip it over and hang it on the wall because it's that nice looking. My mom actually thought it was just a decoration and not for use when I first got it out of the box, that's how gorgeous the bamboo and finish are.

Good cutting board, although I doubt very much we'll use it as a "cutting" board. Will likely end up being a hot plate holder for the table or hanging in the kitchen as an item of display. It's nicely built, comes with a nice leather strap - if you want to hang it up. I wouldn't recommend dishwashing this - I've had other cutting boards that are not single pieces of wood and with the heat from the dishwasher, they eventually come apart (glue melting or eaten by dish soap). Obviously with this being bamboo, it's not a single piece -- that would be a huge stalk!!

The description mentioned a California based company so I wrongly assumed this was made in the USA.Normally, I’m not too particular about that sort of thing but I was traveling to Vietnam and it was to be a gift to our host family. Needless to say, I felt pretty stupid toting a souvenir Pennsylvania cutting board from home that was MADE IN CHINA, their neighbors to the north. I think this kind of info should be divulged.All that being said, it was a gift and so I don’t know how well it held up. I can say it was very pretty and looked and felt like it was excellent quality.

I ordered 3 to give them to my family as part of their Christmas present I can't wait to see their reaction. I will burn their last name with a wood burner so hopefully that turns out well hahaha. Thanks!
